About the author

My name is Christine M.  I am a wife, mother and grandmother.  I have earned an Associate’s degree from The College of Biblical Studies with a teaching certificate, graduated with high honors May 2014. For the past seven years I have been intimately serving as a Client Care Volunteer at a Pregnancy Center. My life has been enriched and transformed through service to others and I have gained unique perspectives into other cultures and mind-sets throughout the journey of the incarceration of my youngest son.

My youngest son, Kevin, began his journey into incarceration over fifteen years ago and as his mother it was most difficult to walk helplessly beside him with inadequate knowledge of necessary and vital resources. Watching someone you love self-destruct is never easy but my pain was unending because I knew of his potential. Kevin…. always a strong-willed child  was demanding me to dig deep into my emotional capacity, yet, I could not even bring him the comfort he desperately needed. Now, so many years later, I am grateful for the change it has produced in my life. This journey into the incarceration of my son has given me awareness for those who are struggling and an innate desire to help them.

In May, 2011, I woke up with the word MOMI impressed upon my heart which I felt prompted to write in my prayer journal, not knowing that the Holy Spirit had placed the idea for a BLOG on my heart…….. This was for an appointed time.

God was equipping me to use my experiences to strengthen and encourage other mothers in need of a lifeline. Now three years later, July 2014, Mothers of Men Incarcerated was birthed.  I am humbled to be chosen to share my pain, disappointments, anger, fears and deep struggles with you, hoping to transport you to a place of healing as you place your TRUST and HOPE in God’s sovereign plan for your life.

The Lord commanded Joshua: “Be strong and take courage. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9).
